Almost-Invisible Braces

Invisalign are clear acrylic aligners designed to straighten your teeth. They fit over your teeth, but they're removable, making it easier to eat, drink, brush and floss.

To begin, we'll take photos and X-rays to create a 3-D image of your mouth. We make your first set of custom-fitted aligners from these images, and then you begin the process of straightening your teeth.

There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten or change. You just pop in a new set of aligners every week until your treatment is complete.

You’ll achieve a great smile with little interference in your daily life; you can still eat and drink what you want. With removable aligners, you're still able to brush and floss normally to maintain healthy gums and teeth.

Please note that more complex problems and significant bite improvements still require traditional braces. The best part about the whole process is that most people won’t even know you’re straightening your teeth.

Depending on the individual, most patients wear Invisalign aligners for 9–15 months, with 18–30 sets typically used over the course of the treatment.

Metal Braces vs. Invisalign

Unlike traditional braces, smooth plastic Invisalign aligners don't have metal components that might irritate your mouth. And, because they’re removed when you eat, you won't have to watch what you eat like you would when wearing braces – bring on the popcorn and peanuts.

To prevent staining, you’ll need to clean your teeth each time you eat before putting the aligners back in place. Of course, brushing and flossing are much easier than with traditional braces, since you don’t have to work around any brackets and wires. That’s a definite advantage in terms of your overall oral health.

Style

The invisibility factor Invisalign offers is probably the most popular feature for our teen and adult patients alike. This makes the treatment very inconspicuous, which can be a big benefit for anyone feeling self-conscious about straightening their smile.

Removability is another huge plus. Aligners can be removed for short periods of time for things like weddings, senior pictures, prom, and any other special event where you’d prefer to show off nothing more than your natural smile.

The Invisalign Process

We use advanced 3D computer-imaging technology to formulate your Invisalign treatment plan.

After that, you'll get a series of clear aligners, custom-made for your teeth. These will move your teeth little by little. You'll wear each aligner for about a week, replacing it with the following aligner in the series until the final position of your teeth is achieved.

Because they're removable, it's important you follow your doctor's directions with your aligners. Invisalign is a wonderful option for many patients, but it's not perfect for everybody.
