Dr. Bruce Ollins graduated from Brooklyn College, The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, and earned his Orthodontic specialty degree from UMDNJ. He then established Ollins Orthodontics in 1979. Dr. Ollins works hard to stay on top of the latest technological advances, such as Pitts 21 appliances, 3D imagining, and intraoral scanning. These technologies provide patients with a more efficient and comfortable orthodontic experience.
Dr. Gabriel Ollins graduated from The George Washington University and University of Maryland Dental School where he earned both his dental degree and specialty orthodontic certificate. Dr. Ollins shares his father’s passion for always striving to improve the orthodontic treatment provided in the office through the incorporation of the latest technological advancements.
Bloomfield Braces
Of all the orthodontics tools we use, traditional braces are one of the most efficient and effective. The metal or ceramic brackets are attached to the teeth, then connected by wires and tiny rubber bands or elastics. Through regular adjustments with Dr. Bruce Ollins and Dr. Gabrial Ollins, these parts work together to apply gentle pressure, which will gradually move the teeth into the desired positions.
Bloomfield braces are a great choice for fixing many tooth issues, both simple and complex. Because they sometimes work faster at closing gaps and aligning teeth than other options might, overall treatment time can be slightly reduced. Braces also don’t require some of the more complicated technology or expensive equipment that newer treatments can. Invisalign aligners are made of a comfortable plastic material and designed to fit snugly over the patient’s teeth. The trays are virtually invisible and are usually switched out every 1-2 weeks for the next in the series. This keeps the teeth moving in the right direction! Aligners have to be worn 20-22 hours per day throughout treatment in order for them to do their job. Patients who neglect to wear the aligners as directed can have a negative impact on the results and also add time to the orthodontic process.
